Peace River Refuge & Ranch
Peace River Refuge & Ranch is a donor-supported, nonprofit exotic animal sanctuary and educational facility. Our sanctuary is dedicated to the lifetime care of abused, neglected, confiscated or unwanted exotic animals to prevent them from being destroyed.
We then educate the public about the issues surrounding exotic animals in captivity, the plight of their wild counterparts and the greater environmental concerns of endangerment and extinction.
We never breed, sell or place the sanctuary animals, they remain here for life, living with others of their own kind. We are dedicated to providing with highest quality of care and the most enriching natural envoronment for the animals.
We currently provide sanctuary for over 200 animals, ranging from tigers, leopards, cougars, lynx, jungle cats, serval, wolves and bears to spider monkeys, capuchins, lemurs, tamarins, bats, cavies, bison, emu, horses, reptiles, birds of prey, other exotic birds and more. We accept animals for sanctuary based on our ability to provide excellent care to them for the rest of their life. We are forced to turn away over 300 animals a year simply because of financial constraints.
Our facility is not open to the public for standard hours, but we will provide guided tours by advance reservation. Please call us for more information or visit our website.
